Washington Wizards forward Rui Hachimura has reported to training camp, according to Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington. He reports to Washington after missing the first couple weeks of training camp to focus on his mental health.

Hachimura’s return is welcome news. He has been a regular starter for Washington since his rookie season back in 2019-20 and will be playing his first season with new head coach Wes Unseld, Jr.

Though Hachimura has returned to Washington, he will still have to go through coronavirus protocols before he is cleared to play. That said, it’s unlikely that he will miss a significant amount of time on the court. Washington’s first regular season game is on Wednesday, Oct. 20, when they play the Toronto Raptors, so it’s possible that Hachimura will be cleared by then.

Welcome back Rui. Hopefully, we’ll see you pick right back up from the Olympics when you led Japan.
