Today is John Wall’s birthday. The Washington Wizards point guard is now 30 years old and has now represented the DMV for the past 10 years.

Now that Wall is 30, it still feels like yesterday when he was a then-19 year old rookie who walked through the halls of the then-Verizon Center for the first time. Along the way, he became a five-time NBA All-Star, a member of the 2016-17 All-NBA third team and led the Wizards to their most successful stretch since the 1970s when the late Wes Unseld led the then-Bullets to an NBA championship and several more Finals Appearances.
The last couple years have been rough for Wall, due to an Achilles injury and the death of his mother. But we are cautiously optimistic that he will come back strong.
Happy birthday John! We look forward to seeing you back on the court next season!
