Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal has bought a $6.8 million home in Venice, one of the beachfront neighborhoods of Los Angeles recently. The news was reported by James McClain of Dirt.com.
The home is a 7,200 sq. ft. facility with five bedrooms and a full basement, among other things, according to McClain. It is also one of the largest homes in the neighborhood, which gives cause to pause for some Wizards fans.
Beal’s main residence is in Bethesda, Md.
Many NBA players, in particular stars, have second homes in markets like Los Angeles or Miami, where they often train during the summer. Also, Beal’s wife, Kamiah Adams-Beal, is from California. So this purchase doesn’t appear like Beal is trying to leave the Wizards for the Los Angeles Lakers or Clippers.
It’s certainly possible that the Wizards will trade Beal within the next couple seasons, especially if they don’t play at a playoff level early on. But he’s never wavered on his desire to stay in Washington. So this home purchase simply seems like a regular move for Beal to build up his wealth and have a place to be while in LA.
