It comes to no surprise as Ariel Atkins is named to WNBA All-Defensive Second Team. This makes her third consecutive year doing so starting in her rookie season.

Congratulations Ariel Atkins on being named to the All-Defensive Second Team!!#TogetherDC #ApplyPressure pic.twitter.com/wcq8txkeYO
Atkins finished third in the league in steals this season with 1.77 per game. So far in her career she has averaged 1.5 steals. She received five votes for second team and two votes for first team.
Some of her biggest steal nights came in three different games this 2020 season. A season high of five steals came against the the New York Liberty, while she also was a ball hawk with four steals in games against the Los Angeles Sparks and the Phoenix Mercury.
Atkins has constantly proven why she’s one of best all-around players in the league. Her consistent offensive awareness as well as defensive nature gives her the upper hand against many of her opponents now and in the future.
See what General Manager and Head Coach Mike Thibault as well as owner of Monumental Sports and Entertainment Ted Leonsis had to say about “Little A”.
Congratulations @iamarielatkins for a third consecutive All Defensive team selection. Very proud of you!!
