The NBA and WNBA are both in the semifinals rounds of their leagues, something that’s only possible in a coronavirus-hit world for now. I think this is something that will persist for years to come.
Anyway, here are the games for today.
WNBA semifinals begin!
The No. 1 Las Vegas Aces and No. 2 Seattle Storm begin their playoff paths in their best-of-five series against the No. 7 Connecticut Sun and No. 4 Minnesota Lynx, respectively. Games will begin later this afternoon. Here’s the schedule:
- No. 1 Las Vegas Aces vs. No. 7 Connecticut Sun, Game 1, 1 p.m. ET, ESPN
- No. 2 Seattle Storm vs. No. 4 Minnesota Lynx, Game 1, 3 p.m. ET, ABC (WJLA-TV in the D.C. area)
NBA Western Conference Playoffs continue!
The Los Angeles Lakers have a 1-0 series lead against the Denver Nuggets and will look to take an even bigger lead tonight. In their first game of the series, the Lakers won 126-114 with Anthony Davis scoring 37 points to lead his team, but also with LeBron James adding 15 points and dishing 12 assists.
James led the NBA in assists during the regular season and is averaging 25.5 points, 9.9 rebounds and 9.1 assists per game in the postseason. I know Russell Westbrook averaged a triple double for three straight regular seasons, but James’s near triple double average at an older age seems more impressive to me!
For the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray scored 21 points each in the first series, but Denver also committed 16 turnovers compared to LA’s 11, which played a part toward their loss.
This game will be on TNT at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Enjoy today’s games!
