The Washington Wizards lost to the Denver Nuggets, 89-82 on Wednesday afternoon in Orlando.

Rui Hachimura scored 18 points and grabbed 9 rebounds while Troy Borwm added 12 more points. For the Nuggets, Troy Daniels led with 22 points while rookie Bol Bol scored 16 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked 6 shots.

Washington led at some points in the first quarter but played at a deficit throughout most of the game. Bol in particular came across as the X factor for the game because of his shot altering capability. Unlike a young JaVale McGee, Bol blocked shots and often kept them in play to Denver’s advantage.

All in all, I’m not too disappointed in this first scrimmage. Washington kept things close even if they didn’t have a lead very much. And for the players, they finally get to start playing games again.

The Wizards wil be back in action on Saturday for their scrimmage against the Los Angeles Clippers. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. ET.
