On Thursday, the NBA Board of Governors officially ratified a plan to resume the 2019-20 season, according to multiple reports. Under the plan, the Washington Wizards will be one of 22 teams to resume play.

Games will resume on July 31, with each team playing eight games for playoff seeding purposes. If the Wizards can be four or fewer games away from the eighth-seeded team in the Eastern Conference, currently the Orlando Magic, then there will be a play-in round.

In addition, the NBA Will hold the Draft Lottery on Aug. 25 and the Draft on Oct. 15.

To me, this season resumption is the effectively the start of the postseason, even if the Wizards don’t make the Final 16. It will be interesting to see how everything shapes out once games begin again on the court.
