On Monday, the International Olympic Committee announced that the 2020 Olympics were rescheduled from July 23 through August 8, 2021. The Olympics were originally going to be from July 24 to August 9, but the world is currently handling the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
Though the Olympics are about one year away, it feels like it’s a century away given the current situation.
Given that that the immediate jurisdictions in the Washington area (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) are under “stay-at-home” or effectively lockdown orders for the next several weeks to “flatten the curve,” there will still be plenty of events that are cancelled between now and for the foreseeable future in sports, entertainment and almost anything else in our lives.
Stay safe everyone.
