The 2020 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game is a novelty event. It features actors, actresses, former NBA players and current WNBA players in a game that’s not a high priority for most fans to see.

This year, it will be slightly different. DJ Heat, the Wizards and Mystics’ official DJ, will spin the tables at the game. And furthermore, a well-known Wizards fan will also get on the hardwood.

Jose Andres, a Spanish American restauranteur and well-known Wizards fan, will also play in the game. He will play on “Team Wilbon” with former Washington Post writer and now-ESPN columnist Michael Wilbon as head coach.

If you aren’t familiar with the restaurants Andres owns, the most famous restaurant he owns in Washington is minibar, a two Michelin star restaurant. He also owns Jaleo, a Spanish tapas spot that has multiple locations, including one in Chinatown just a few blocks from Capital One Arena.

Andres doesn’t just own upscale and find-dining restaurants. He also founded the World Central Kitchen, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing disaster relief in the form of prepared meals.

I’m not sure how much Andres will play, but it will certainly be great to see one of the Wizards’ celebrity fans out there!
