Earlier this week, Marcin Gortat retired from the NBA, and I added that he deserved something official from the Wizards organization in the near future.
Looks like the Wizards got the message. The team gave a tribute to him on social media last Wednesday, just a few hours after my post. Gortat also responded!
Thx u #DcFamily !! Love u guyssss

And if that weren’t enough, Wolf Blitzer of CNN also gave a tribute last Monday. He is a frequent attendee of Wizards games and hosts a preview segment before home games. The cool part is that he created this video segment with an opening that directly mirrors his daily show, “The Situation Room.”
The tributes continue. Many thanks 2 my friend @wolfblitzer who is a big @WashWizards @NBA & @MGortat fan. It was a great 5 years in #DC where Marcin left his mark. Really appreciate this tribute from @CNNSitRoom pic.twitter.com/mSJLyq3lpt

Hopefully we’ll see Gortat return to D.C. where we can see him get a standing ovation in the arena.
