Buddy Hield trailed Devin Booker 26-17 entering the final rack of the 3-Point Contest on Saturday evening - his money rack. Hield calmly knocked down all five three-point attempts edging out Booker for a 27-26 win.
Washington Wizards forward Davis Bertans made the finals of the 3-Point Contest but fell short as he scored just 22 points in the final round.
Bertans, the odds on favorite entering tonight’s contest started the night out slow. Maybe it was jitters or he just wasn't warm yet, Bertans wasn’t his typical self to start this one as he knocked down just one shot on the first rack and three on the second. Things changed once he got to the right side of the court as he knocked down the newly added Mountain Dew shot, good for three points followed by hitting all five shots from the right wing, his money rack. Bertans scored 26 points in the first round which would be good enough for an appearance in the finals.

Since Bertans had the lowest score of the three, he went first. Once again, Bertans never really caught a rhythm until he got to the ride side of the floor. This time, Bertans knocked down 4-of-5 shots from the right wing and it looked like he might string seven or eight consecutive shots together but unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Bertans scored just 22 points in the finals which is a solid turnout but with a score like that, never really had a shot at winning the contest.
Trae Young, the popular pick to win the contest scored just 15 points and was eliminated in the first round while the reigning champion in Joe Harris never really got going either and was also eliminated in the first round.
