Rui Hachimura and Moritz Wagner met Barack Obama during NBA All-Star Rising Stars Game

Even though Washington won’t participate in the main event on Sunday, you can still see everyone having fun.

Chicago is home to deep dish pizza and of course, the Chicago Bulls NBA team that was a powerhouse in the 1990s. Chicago is also home of former U.S. President Barack Obama, who lived in the city before serving eight years in the White House from 2009-17.

Obama also met Washington Wizards forward Rui Hachimura and center Moritz Wagner last Friday before the Rising Stars Game, according to Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington.

Though their interactions were short, Obama told Hachimura that he would like to attend a Wizards home game soon. If he attends one this calendar year, it will be the first time in seven years since he attended a game in the building, and the first time in about 11 years since he watched a Wizards game.

Obama, a long-time Bulls fan, attended a Wizards game on Feb. 27, 2009 when they hosted Chicago. He also attended a Mystics game in 2010 and a USA Basketball friendly in July 2012 at the then-Verizon Center.

Today, Obama has a residence in Washington, D.C. in the Kalorama neighborhood not far from Chinatown. It would certainly be nice to see him sitting courtside to support the home team.
