There are many NBA celebrity fans out there. But most of them support the bandwagon teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors or Miami Heat. Hell, even the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets have many celebrity fans. I get why. They are in entertainment or otherwise “cool” hubs.
Washington on the other hand is home to bureaucracy. The “establishment.” Gridlock. Political wonks. And just being a “boring” place.
D.C. is essentially the American version of Brussels, Belgium, the de-facto capital of the European Union, the home of the NATO military alliance — and the most powerful city in the western world (if not the whole world) since a particular day on January 2017. I’ll leave that last comment I made at that.
Anyway, it makes sense that the Washington Wizards’ celebrity fans would be ... political wonks. In fact, they are — AND WE ARE PROUD OF IT!
Last Friday, CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer and chief national correspondent John King gave the Wizards’ 2020-21 first half season schedule projections in a format that you may be more familiar with on “The Situation Room,” the show Blitzer hosts on weekday afternoons.
It's NBA Season in America!

Blitzer and King are regulars at Wizards home games. And Blitzer has hosted a “Situation Room” segment previewing home games on Capital One Arena’s video screen for many seasons.
I like this presentation and hope to see more Blitzer segments before Wizards home games this season, whether fans are there or not!
