Washington Wizards point guard Russell Westbrook has been most famous for wearing No. 0 throughout his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets. But the No. 0 has been better associated with long-time point guard Gilbert Arenas when he played for Washington from 2003-10.
Arenas is still a highly adored figure among Washington fans, though the franchise has distanced itself from hime ever since he was traded to the Orlando Magic. And though his number hasn’t been retired, no one has worn it since.
But would Westbrook really wear No. 0 in Monumental Red? Nota chance.
Yesterday, the Wizards announced he will wear No. 4 instead. It’s his high school number, which ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski noted.

Some of the Wizards’ most notable players have worn the No. 4 jersey in the 21st century, including Antawn Jamison and Marcin Gortat.
