The Washington Wizards’ preseason ends tonight. So this is one last time the team gets to tinker with rotations and the like.
Earlier today, the Wizards announced that Rui Hachimura is out for tonight’s game against the Detroit Pistons due to conjunctivitis. That is the medical term for pink eye.
Fred Katz of The Athletic also added that the news also means Russell Westbrook and Davis Bertans will be available to play. So we should finally get to see how they look in the preseason along with Bradley Beal.
The Wizards just released their injury report and Russell Westbrook, Bradley Beal and Davis Bertans are not on it — meaning all three will be active tonight for the first time this preseason.

Rui Hachimura, however, is still out with conjunctivitis.
The Wizards are currently 0-2 in the preseason and can use some positive momentum heading into the regular season, even if this game doesn’t technically count. Since the 2019-20 NBA season restart, the Wizards have only won one time, including scrimmages.
Given that the Wizards are facing pressure to make the playoffs and made a big trade to help their chances, it would be in their best interest that they play everyone to get that win so everyone feels more optimistic heading into opening day next week.
