The Washington Wizards will still have a shorthanded roster on Thursday evening when they play the Detroit Pistons at Capital One Arena. The team tweeted out this morning that Russell Westbrook and Davis Bertans will sit out the game to rest. In addition, Rui Hachimura and Garrison Mathews are questionable due to an eye and left hip injury, respectively.
Injury report for tonight’s #WizPistons:
— Washington Wizards (@WashWizards) December 17, 2020
Russell Westbrook - OUT (rest)
Davis Bertans - OUT (rest)
Rui Hachimura - QUESTIONABLE (eye)
Garrison Mathews - QUESTIONABLE (left hip)
Of the players who are questionable, Hachimura has dealt with an eye issue this week. He has missed practices due to the issue.
No decision on Rui Hachimura yet. He didn't practice for the second day in a row with eye irritation.

Head coach Scott Brooks stressed that the eye issue is not serious, so Hachimura should make it back in time before the regular season begins on Dec. 23. Hopefully Bertans gets some game action as well.
As for Westbrook? Brooks said earlier this week that he may not have to actually play before the regular season, citing his high motor. But I’m still hopeful that he plays a few minutes for Saturday’s preseason game, which also happens to be against the Pistons.
As for tonight’s game? The tip off is at 7 p.m. ET.
