Multiple teams are trying to create sign-and-trade offers for Davis Bertans, according to report

There are two NBA Eastern Conference teams and a Western Conference team looking to create a sign-and-trade offer for Davis Bertans, according to Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington.

These teams are in addition to the Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks and Phoenix Suns who have the cap space to sign him.

The Washington Wizards forward is entering the 2020 NBA free agency season as one of the top unrestricted free agents available due to his elite three point shooting. He averaged 15.4 points and 4.5 rebounds last season.

However, the Wizards aren’t expected to be championship contenders, even with John Wall expected to return this winter. Given their decline in the last couple seasons, it seems like teams are anticipating a fire sale by the Wizards sooner rather than later despite their pushback against that.

Bertans isn’t the only Wizards player other teams are eyeing. Bradley Beal is a target from other teams as well, and even he is apparently open to leaving ... just in case.

The NBA trade season will be here in less than two weeks and it will be interesting to see how everything plays out.
