On Saturday, the Washington Wizards announced that they signed Cassius Winston to a two-way contract. Yoeli Childs, Caleb Homesley and Marlon Taylor were signed to Exhibit 10 contracts.
It isn’t surprising that Childs, Homesley and Taylor were on Exhibit 10 contracts, which are one-year contracts that could be converted to a two-way contract before the regular season starts among other things.
But for Winston, it is notable that despite the fact that he is not on a standard contract despite being a second round pick. Part of the reason may be because his addition on the full roster could clog up the point guard rotation, especially with John Wall expected to return, despite recent trade rumors.
Given that Winston is on a two-way contract instead of a standard one, do you think that this is sort of a “vote in confidence” in Wall to remain with the Wizards? Let us know in the comments below.
