As the video gaming world comes close to the consoles release in November, many games were previously announced to get fans hyped up in advance. One of many is NBA 2K21.
In the previous game, 2K20, you could play with your favorite WNBA team and even go through an entire season with that team. More was wanted and needed especially when fans weren’t able to create a MyPLAYER or even do a MyCAREER as a WNBA player. NBA 2k21 Next Generation has heard everyone and has introduced the new WNBA MyPLAYER mode along with WNBA Online and MyWNBA franchise mode.
Big Next Gen additions for WNBA fans

How exciting is that?!
Another plus to awaiting this game was seeing the ratings of well-known WNBA players to see where they ranked amongst their teammates and opponents. As for the Washington Mystics, Elena Delle Donne leads the Top 100 WNBA Players on 2K21 list with a 96 overall rating. This is definite respect to the 2019 WNBA MVP especially since she didn’t play in the 2020 season.
Delle Donne isn’t the only Mystics player who made the list though. There are nine others:
- 15. Emma Meesseman - 88 OVR (That’s more like it after an inexplicable 79 in last year’s game!)
- 32. Myisha Hines-Allen - 84 OVR
- 35. Tina Charles - 84 OVR
- 38. Ariel Atkins - 84 OVR
- 41. Aerial Powers - 83 OVR
- 47. Natasha Cloud - 82 OVR
- 59. LaToya Sanders - 80 OVR
- 74. Leilani Mitchell - 78 OVR
- 77. Tianna Hawkins - 78 OVR
The Mystics team as a whole was even ranked fourth with an overall rating of 85. Seattle and Las Vegas are above Washington, but also had 85 while the Los Angeles Sparks sit atop with 86 overall rating.
The excitement is definitely on as WNBA fans will get the full NBA 2K gaming experience. So what console will you be playing it on?
