Tianna Hawkins and John Wall surprised a D.C. area breast cancer survivor on Good Morning America

The Washington basketball players were on ABC’s morning show yesterday to deliver good news to Donna Hopkins, a reporter here in the area.

On Thursday, Washington Mystics forward Tianna Hawkins and Washington Wizards guard John Wall made an appearance on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” They weren’t on for themselves, but to give a thank you to a breast cancer survivor from the D.C. area.

The segment featured Donna Hopkins, a sports reporter here in the D.C. area who beat breast cancer twice. The organization is known for hosting an annual basketball tournament called “Hoop It Up for Breast Cancer.”

Hopkins was given a surprise appearance by Hawkins during the segment, while Wall made a video appearance, where he donated $10,000 from his foundation to hers. Wall’s mother, Frances Pulley, passed away last December after a batter with breast cancer.
