On Sunday afternoon, the Washington Wizards announced that they waived Justin Robinson, who played sparingly in nine games in the 2019-20 NBA season. This move seemed inevitable, because Gary Payton II was signed under an injury hardship last month and made a strong first impression. In fact, he’s a regular in the starting lineup now.
Washington’s roster, excluding two-way players is now at 15. There will still be some tougher decisions ahead if Garrison Mathews and Anzejs Pasecniks, the Wizards’ two-way players, remain with the senior squad for much longer, since they can only spend 45 days with the NBA team without having to be signed for the season, resulting in more roster moves.
