Rui Hachimura discusses his groin injury, recovery before game against Nuggets

The Wizards rookie will be re-evaluated in two weeks before he returns to the court.

Wizards rookie Rui Hachimura spoke to media ahead of the team’s game against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night. Hachimura suffered a groin contusion after being kicked in the groin by teammate Issac Bonga while the two were going for a rebound, in a Dec. 16 matchup against the Detroit Pistons.

He has now missed ten games after originally being expected to miss five. Prior to his injury, he was averaging 13.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.

Hachimura talked about his recovery, being visiting by General Manager Tommy Sheppard and Coach Scott Brooks, and the team.
