On Sunday, the Washington Wizards announced that they signed Johnathan Williams to a two-way contract. By doing so, they converted Anzejs Pasecniks to a standard NBA contract ahead of the Jan. 15 deadline. The Wizards announced that Pasecniks will have a multiyear contract, but terms weren’t disclosed.

To make the moves, they also waived guard CJ Miles who was already out for the season due to a wrist injury.

None of these moves are surprises. There were rumors that the Wizards wanted to convert Pasecniks last week and Williams’ rebounding presence certainly played a major role for him to get a two-way contract.

That said, Williams will likely wear a Go-Go uniform very soon.

In pregame availability before today’s Jazz game, Wizards head coach Scott Brooks announced that Bradley Beal and Thomas Bryant will be available to play. Beal will start and Bryant will come off the bench. With Bryant and also Davis Bertans back to playing games, the minutes won’t be there for Williams. However, things are always subject to change.
