The Washington Wizards seem to have issues starting training camp at near 100 percent strength. Troy Brown Jr. suffered a left calf injury last Monday during preseason workouts. In a press release, the Wizards announced that he will miss approximately four weeks.
Brown averaged 4.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game in the 2018-19 season. He is expected to play a larger role on the wing and perhaps at point guard.
With this news, Brown joins Isaiah Thomas on the list of Wizards players who will miss the start of training camp. In Brown’s case, he won’t miss much of the regular season. And perhaps he may not miss a single game if he progresses ahead of schedule. The regular season opener is on Oct. 23 when Washington plays the Dallas Mavericks on the road.
