Pregame Notes

Elena Delle Donne cannot be stopped!

MASK ON! No seriously...mask on! Elena Delle Donne has been killing it offensively especially after coming back off a nasal fracture. In Delle Donne’s last two games she scored 29 points against Seattle Storm and 33 in the Mystics last meeting with the Mercury.

She’s definitely a huge powerhouse, that Washington cannot afford to lose this late in the season. In her third season with the Mystics, Delle Donne is averaging 18.7 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game. And even took another Player of the Month for July after grabbing it in June as well.

Remain strong in all four quarters

Washington has a tendency to let up in the second half after gaining a comfortable lead. Prime example was the last meeting with Phoenix. Washington led 48-38 at halftime, but then was outscored in the fourth quarter 32-21 leading to Mercury attempting to close out the gap.

Things like that are not what Washington needs to happen. Second half of the season needs to be as flawless as possible so that Mystics can truly “Run It Back!”
