A familiar face who once wore a Wizards’ jersey will now occupy a spot in the front office. The team announced Antawn Jamison will be the new Director of Pro Personnel. He was formerly with the Los Angeles Lakers in a scouting role. Washington also added Laron Profit and John Carideo as pro scouts.

Jamison devoted six years of his playing career with Washington averaging over 20 points per game and 9 rebounds per game. In that time, he also was a two-time NBA All-Star as well as a bronze medalist with the U.S. National Team in 2006 in the FIBA World Championship. Today, it is known as the FIBA World Cup.

Wizards General Manager Tommy Sheppard spoke his excitement in this statement:

“We are absolutely thrilled to bring Antawn back to the Wizards organization,” Sheppard said. “In addition to his strong feel for the game and basketball knowledge, he always has been a true professional and a dedicated worker. We look forward to him bringing those qualities to our front office.”
