Jabari Parker, the last remaining piece from the trades that sent away Kelly Oubre Jr., Austin Rivers and Otto Porter Jr. last year in return for Trevor Ariza, Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker, has also left Washington:
After the dust has cleared, Kelly Oubre Jr., Austin Rivers (himself traded for Marcin Gortat) and Otto Porter Jr. combined to net the Wizards a protected 2nd rounder in 2023 (the protection has now been lifted in the Satoransky trade).
Per reports, Parker’s contract is for $13 million over two years, this time Parker is taking control of year two with a player option. Washington acquired Parker but decided not to exercise the team option for $20 million for this year. Instead, the Wizards have acquired plenty of options at the forward slot recently, including Mo Wagner, Davis Bertans, CJ Miles, and, of course, newly drafted Rui Hachimura and Admiral Schofield.
Good luck in Atlanta, Jabari!
