The Wizards are kicking off NBA Summer League in Las Vegas where they will begin play against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Game Info
When: Saturday, July 6 at 10 p.m. ET
Where: Thomas and Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV
How to watch: ESPN
What to watch for
Rookie forward chemistry — Rui Hachimura and Admiral Schofield are the Wizards’ two draft picks but we have yet to see them play on the professional stage. Will their athleticism take center stage or will it be their mistakes instead?
Troy Brown’s sophomore jump — Brown played more in the Wizards’ rotation late in the 2018-19 season. He will be counted on more to handle the offense on this team so we’ll have a chance to see how well he does as a shooter and perhaps also as a point guard.
It’s Zion’s second game as a pro — The Pelicans rookie will play his first professional game on Friday so the Wizards will have a feel of how he dominates (or doesn’t) in front of other professionals. Hopefully that’s something Washington can use to their advantage.
