On Thursday, Candace Buckner of The Washington Post reported that Capital City Go-Go head coach Jarrell Christian will join the Wizards’ coaching staff. Wizards assistant coach Ryan Richman will be the Go-Go’s head coach.

Christian led Capital City to a 25-25 record in the franchise’s first G-League season. He will now get time to work with the NBA team as they look to build with a group of young players that includes Rui Hachimura and Troy Brown, Jr.

Richman may not be with the Wizards full-time this season, but the Go-Go position allows him to be a head coach for the first time. In Buckner’s article, she noted the Richman has worked with the Wizards in various capacities since 2014 and became an assistant coach just last season.

Though the Wizards’ front office remains in flux, there was little doubt that they were going to work with Scott Brooks for at least one more year. It will be interesting to see how Richman works out as a head coach and how Christian will be on Washington’s bench.
