In their first meeting of the season, the Mystics beat the Fever 95-88 in overtime.
The Mystics snapped their 3-game losing streak thanks to Elena Delle Donne making her return to the court. Going into this game, Indiana and Washington were on 3-game losing streaks. Delle Donne led her team with 28 points and 15 rebounds. Kristi Toliver and Emma Meesseman followed with 17 points and 13 points respectively.

Erica Wheeler led the Fever with 18 points and Natalie Achonwa added 16 points a team-high 12 rebounds.
The Mystics were outscored in the second, third, and fourth quarters after barely outscoring the Fever in the first quarter. The Mystics were lucky Delle Donne went off today because she kept them afloat and helped them come back to force an overtime.

While a win is a win, it is concerning that Washington barely beat Indiana. The Mystics have shown greater ability to win against better teams. Hopefully, they can get back to playing like they’re going to ‘run it back’.
Washington will match up against Indiana on August 8 and August 18 at home.
Next game
The Mystics’ next game will be at home against the Atlanta Dream at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
