The fourth week of BIG3 game action has come and gone. So let’s recap how Gilbert Arenas and the Enemies did and where the league stands at the moment.
Enemies beat Aliens, 50-39
Arenas may be the biggest name for the Enemies, but he hasn’t been their biggest star on the court. The one-time Wizards All-Star scored just four points in their big win over the Aliens last week in Providence last Saturday.
Craig Smith led the Enemies with 19 points after a cold first half and Perry Jones added 13 more. Greg Oden scored 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds for the Aliens.
This game wasn’t exactly a pass-happy affair as both teams only dished four assists each. But this league is about BUCKETS, not necessarily the pass-happy style of basketball the NBA has adopted in recent years.
Our own Ben Mehic had a one-on-one interview with Arenas after the game. We will release it later this week so stay tuned for it!
The Triplets are the BIG3’s team to beat!
On Sunday, the Triplets defeated Tri-State, 50-37 to clinch a 4-0 record and remain as the BIG3’s only undefeated team with captain Joe Johnson and head coach Lisa Leslie.
Joe Johnson scored 17 points to remain a strong MVP candidate while Al Jefferson scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as they were able to get on a late first half run to effectively put the game away. Jason Richardson led Tri-State with 20 points.
Next week, the Triplets will face Cuttino Mobley and the Power, setting up a match between the hottest team this year and last year’s BIG3 champions.
