Elena Delle Donne has been named a WNBA All-Star Captain for the second year in a row. Delle Donne finished with a WNBA-high 32,460 fan votes. It’ll be Team Delle Donne vs. Team Wilson (A’ja), who was second in votes.
Delle Donne was the top vote-getter among 10 selected players as starters for the WNBA All-Star hosted in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay Events Center on Saturday, July 27.

This will be Delle Donne’s sixth all-star selection, tied with Phoenix Mercury’s own Brittney Griner. Including that accolade, she adds a WNBA Finals appearance last season, two Player of the Weeks, and WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month in June.
Rosters will be selected out of the remaining starters and 12 reserves in which Delle Donne will select first in the First Round of starters. The Reserves will be selected by the head coaches and announced on Monday.
Also representing the Washington Mystics in the All-Star game will be Head Coach Mike Thibault along with his coaching staff. Thibault is the winningest coach in WNBA history as well as coach of the month for June after the Mystics went on a 9-2 record. It’s pretty much self-explanatory why he was selected.
