On Tuesday, the Wizards hosted six prospects for pre-draft workouts. They are Raasean Davis (NC Central), Garrison Mathews (Lipscomb), Matt Morgan (Cornell), Marcquise Reed (Clemson), BJ Stith (Old Dominion) and James Thompson IV (Eastern Michigan).
Of the prospects, Reed and Stith are the most notable. Reed was a redshirt senior who averaged double figure scoring in each of his four seasons in college (2014-15 with Robert Morris and 2016-17 to 2018-19 for Clemson). Reed also went to St. Vincent Palotti High School in Landover, Md. and Capital Christian Academy in Upper Marlboro, Md. While in college, Reed scored over 2,000 career points and has been a strong all-around shooting guard where he averaged 19.4 points and 3.1 assists in his senior season.
Stith is another plyer with regional ties. He went to Oak Hill Academy in Southwest Virginia before playing a season at Virginia in 2014-15 before transferring to Old Dominion where he played his three remaining seasons where he led the Monarchs to a 2019 NCAA Tournament appearance. Stith averaged 16.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game that season.
