The first player departure from the 2018-19 Washington Wizards is apparently official. Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that Trevor Ariza will sign a two-year $25 million contract with the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.

This move was expected. The Wizards are cap-tied and have little hope of making the playoffs in the 2019-20 season or even after that. Meanwhile, the Kings were 39-43 last season and in striking distance of a playoff berth. Ariza averaged 14.1 points per game in 43 games for the Wizards in 2018-19, his second stint with the team.
Best of luck to Ariza on his future with Sacramento.
