On Tuesday, Toronto Raptors President of Basketball Operations Masai Ujiri announced that he will stay with the 2018-19 NBA Champions.

In a TSN article, Ujiri said “For me it’s always been about Toronto. I love it here. My family loves it here. My wife loves it here, which is important. My kids are Canadian. I want to win more... In my mind, I’m here.”

The Wizards were rumored to be ready to offer Ujiri a six-year, $60 million offer to run the Wizards’ basketball operations and/or Monumental Sports & Entertainment. And with this news, I think we all know what must come next.

It’s time to just give Tommy Sheppard the job, even if the optics of his hiring aren’t ideal.
