It's with a heavy heart and deep sadness I announce that I'm stepping down as the editor of Bullets Forever. The thought of blogging in a world where the Raptors are NBA champions is too much for me to bear*.
But in all seriousness, the reason I'm stepping away is a simple matter of time management. My wife and I have both taken on new job responsibilities recently that have made it too difficult for me to manage the site effectively on top of everything else.
It’s so hard to leave something that’s been a part of my life in one way or another for the last dozen years, but I’m not leaving entirely. I’m looking forward to getting back to doing what I did when I first got here: Enjoying great things written by other people and responding with weird comments. It’s my ideal role.
The great things will keep coming. Albert Lee has done an incredible job managing the transition of the site and I’m confident even better things are on the way thanks to the passionate group of writers we have.
It has been an honor and privilege to run this site for the last few years. Bullets Forever has provided me with so many opportunities to make lasting memories, build meaningful friendships, and debate every single facet of Otto Porter’s existence. I could never adequately express how thankful I am to Mike Prada, the folks at SB Nation, all the great writers I’ve worked with, and everyone who has ever interacted with something we’ve done here, for giving me a place to talk about this basketball team that keeps pulling us back in, despite everything.
* - The Raptors, as you may recall, were swept by the Wizards in the 2015 playoffs. Washington got to celebrate that sweep at home because they were the lower seeded team going into that series.
