The Wizards will have a new experience available for VIP season ticket holders. These are people who generally sit within four rows of the court and get benefits such as unlimited food, drink and even off-site garage parking.
Starting the 2019-20 season, Capital One Arena will have a new courtside patio called ‘The District.” This bar will take away one of the box sections on the court. According to a team release, the new bar will be over 1,000 square feet and be the largest of its kind in the NBA.
VIP season ticket holders will still be able to access the Etihad Airways and/or MGM National Harbor lounges, depending on where their seats are.
If you are a season ticket holder who already is enjoying the all-inclusive benefits the Wizards provide, this is not a bad thing. After all, ticket prices have remained flat for the 2019-20 season in light of John Wall’s Achilles injury and the team’s regression to the lottery.
But if you’re not a VIP season ticket holder or a displaced one due to the lounge setup, this is probably not the news you are looking for. Right now, the Wizards are still looking for a new President of Basketball Operations and there is no end in sight. That should be the primary focus of the team given that the NBA Draft is less than one month away.
