What to Watch for
Now what?
It’s the start of a new era in Washington. Ernie Grunfeld is out, which means everyone in the organization from the coaching staff to the last player on the bench is going to be reevaluated with a fresh set of eyes this summer. Now, everyone has four games left this season to make a final impression for whoever takes over the reins on why they should stick around in Washington.
Interestingly enough, the first game of this evaluation period comes against one of the last teams Grunfeld made a deal with: The Chicago Bulls. We won’t get a true sense of how things are going since the trade because former Wizard Otto Porter is not suiting up for the Bulls. He will miss Wednesday’s game with a shoulder sprain that has kept him out of the past seven games.
However, we will get to see more from Jabari Parker and Bobby Portis, both of whom had some nice moments during the Wizards’ recent road trip. We'll see if they have any more left to show their old team as they welcome them to their new home for the first time.
