The Wizards play the Grizzlies at 7 p.m. ET tonight. Watch the game on NBC Sports Washington. Listen to the game on Federal News Radio 1500 AM or the Wizards Mobile App.
After losing to the Hornets yesterday, you would think that we would finally see the Wizards try to “salvage” their draft position. But instead, when fans want the team to zig, the Wizards zag.
Candace Buckner of The Washington Post wrote on a moment after the Wizards’ win over the Magic that a fan heckled owner Ted Leonsis after the game. That fan said “Fire Ernie!” like most Wizards fans probably want him to do. Leonsis replied, “Just enjoy the win!”
As fans, I think most of us would rather see the team play for the future. Which means more minutes for Troy Brown Jr., Chasson Randle and Devin Robinson who somehow can’t get a look despite putting up some big numbers int he G-League. But the Wizards are still going to fight for a playoff spot until they are mathematically eliminated.
And Bradley Beal is logging in major minutes in a lost season ... unless he gets an All-NBA Team mention — and a shot to get a supermax contract extension. Things would be interesting if that happens.
Today is also the Wizards’ Indian Heritage Night. There are no active NBA players from India, the second largest country in the world. But we still don’t mind sharing “Coca Cola” by Tony Kakkar, Neha Kakkar & Young Desi.
t’s featured in the Bollywood comedy movie “Luka Chuppi” (Hide and Seek) which you can see in American theaters that have a significant Bollywood selection. And you can see the preview for it here. It’s about a man and woman who get in a relationship, live together and their families start getting confused. the preview is definitely amusing:
