The Wizards travel on the road to play the Raptors. Gametime is at 7:30 p.m. ET which you can watch on NBC Sports Washington. If you want to listen to it on the radio, it’s on Federal News Radio 1500 AM or the Wizards’ mobile app.
It wasn’t too long ago when many NBA fans considered Toronto, Ontario an irrelevant place for basketball. They lost their first two franchise players in Vince Carter and Chris Bosh, possibly in part because the team couldn’t recruit American superstars to come north of the American border. But in the last few years, Toronto has managed to make their Canadian status an asset rather than a liability.
The fanbase in Toronto has been as rabid as the glamour teams in the Bay Area, L.A and Miami. And American star players are more willing to look at Toronto as a destination to play for a winning organization. If you haven’t been to Toronto yet, even I encourage you to look at it. It’s the biggest city in Canada and offers all of the hustle and bustle of New York City without a stigma that it’s also a “dirty place.”
Meanwhile in Washington, this city will look pretty bleak for awhile. It may not look that bad right now, but as I mentioned on Tuesday, the salary cap just won’t allow the Wizards to keep every essential player from this season.
Anyway, let’s just enjoy the last game before All-Star Break. Go Wizards.
