What to Watch for
How will the new-look Wizards stack up against a playoff contender?
The Wizards are 2-0 since acquiring Jabari Parker, Bobby Portis, and Wesley Johnson, but those wins have come against the Cavaliers and Bulls, two of the three worst teams in the Eastern Conference. On Monday, we’ll get our first look at how they stack up against a team with playoff aspirations.
Detroit is still on the outside of the playoff picture as things stand at the moment, but they’ve won four of their last five games, including a win at home over the Nuggets. A win will help them stay within striking distance of the eighth-seeded Miami Heat. However, if Washington can keep the good times rolling and pull out the victory on the road, they’ll tie Detroit in the win column.
This is the third and final meeting between the two teams this season. They split the first two meetings, so the winner claims the head-to-head tiebreaker, which could end up determining who makes the playoffs and who heads home early.
