Jabari Parker shows his all-around promise and athleticism for the Wizards

The Wizards forward is off to a strong start after getting traded by the Chicago Bulls last week.

On Sunday’s Daily Digits, the magic number is:

6

On Saturday, Jabari Parker dunked six times in the Wizards134-125 win over the Chicago Bulls. Parker scored 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 6 assists. This performance follows his near triple-double the previous night against the Cleveland Cavaliers when he scored 7 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished 9 assists in a 119-106 win.

Of the three players who were facing off against their former teams (Wizards forward Bobby Portis and Bulls forward Otto Porter were the others), Parker had the classic “revenge game.” Parker didn’t just help the Wizards get a second straight win. He also had more than his fair share of highlight dunks which make for good highlights like you see above.

Parker is on the first year of a two-year $40 million contract and will hit unrestricted free agency this summer. It’s unclear what the future holds for him, whether in Washington or elsewhere past this season because Washington could elect NOT to pay him. But I like redemption stories and wouldn’t mind seeing him in Washington next season if he keeps this play up for the rest of the season.
