Rui Hachimura is a regular starter for the Washington Wizards. Here in the D.C. area. he’s viewed as a supporting cast member to Bradley Beal. Outside of the U.S., he’s the face of the Washington Wizards.
(Sounds eerily similar to a couple Mystics forwards, but I digress. That’s another topic for another day.)
Anyway, Hachimura is signed with Nike’s Jordan Brand, but he won’t simply be wearing Jumpman logo shoes. According to ESPN’s Nickj DePaula, the brand wants to make Hachimura a global ambassador for the brand. Jordan Brand also intends to incorporate Hachimura into product launches around the Tokyo Olympics next year.
I’m really happy to see the impact Hachimura is beginning to make on the marketing end for Jordan Brand. He is also playing at a high level for the Wizards in his own right, and that will help him increase his impact globally and around here in the D.C. area as well.
