Some very popular artists from the 1990s will be at Capital One Arena this season.

The Washington Wizards announced their 2019-20 Friday Concert Series on Wednesday. There are three games with a postgame concert!

Nov. 8 vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

DJ Flexx, Backyard Band, Experience Unlimited will be on in a night mostly dedicated to Go-Go. Of the artists here, DJ Flexx is the most well-known, so here’s “Southeast Anthem.”

Also, Black Indian, a local rapper will be there. This isn’t his most recent song, but here’s a video of one of his songs.

Feb. 7 vs. Dallas Mavericks

It may be Latvian-Slovenian Heritage Night, but this game will also be a tribute to the 1990s!

Mase, Dru Hill and DJ Quicksilva will perform. DJ Quicksilva is a Baltimore-raised DJ who’s also heard on WKYS-FM here in the D.C. area. He’s been DJ’ing since he was a kid! Here’s an interview he did from a few years back on it.

But I’d have to say that Mase and Dru Hill are the biggest headliners. Mase is a rapper who was with Bad Boy Records during its heyday with Diddy and The Notorious B.I.G. Here’s his first hit as a solo artist, “Feel So Good” from 1997

Dru Hill was a very popular R&B group from the late 1990s as well. Before their lead singer Sisqó became a solo artist and had “The Thong Song” at the turn of the 21st century, “We’re Not Making Love No More” was one of his group’s biggest hits.

There’s more as well. Baltimore-based A1 Chops and TyLan, will also perform. A1 Chops is a duo known for their drumming routine. I couldn’t find something on TyLan, but A1 Chops is legit folks!

Mar. 6 vs. Atlanta Hawks

No performers have been announced yet for this game which is also Pride Night. I’ll update the post when we learn more.
