How could Thomas Bryant be developed into a complete player?

Thomas Bryant has been a good addition to the Wizards roster. His attitude on game day is very positive and he makes the team much more fun to watch. His production has been good; in particular, he has been very effective on offense. He has been making good decisions with the ball, he provides a big lob threat, and he is running pick and roll effectively. Bryant is decent at rebounding and his defensive rebounding production has improved quite a bit over the past month. But I saw him get victimized by centers who are inconsistent starters, and also backup centers. In a few games, Bryant’s poor defense has more than nullified his good production on offense.

Bryant has the size and quickness to be an effective defender, and I think that he would benefit from training and mentoring in techniques. Where could he get that training? Does Mahinmi give him advice? Is there a good centers coach on the staff? The Wizards have a center who is a three-time Defensive Player of the Year on the payroll. Could Dwight Howard provide Bryant some pointers and mentoring? There are probably other options to pursue over the summer. If the Wizards resign Bryant to a new contract, they might also set him up with a camp run by hall of fame bigs.
