What to Watch for
The Pacers have had the Wizards’ number defensively this season. Two of Washington’s seven worst offensive performances this season have come against Indiana. The Wizards played both games in Indiana back in December when the team was in a state of flux with the Trevor Ariza trade and John Wall’s deteriorating heel issue.
Things are different now. Even though both teams have lost key players for the season since the last time they played, they’ve been competitive in their absence. The Wizards are 10-8 without John Wall and the Pacers are 7-6 without Victor Oladipo, including their 109-101 win over Washington on December 10.
Washington will need Bradley Beal to play much better than he did in the first two games against the Pacers to give Washington a shot. He was a combined 12-of-38 from the field and 5-of-15 from deep in the first two games against Indiana this season.
The Wizards will also need a better answer for Myles Turner. He went off for 26 points, 12 rebounds, and had 5 blocks in their first meeting. He followed that up with 18 points, 17 rebounds, and 2 blocks in the rematch.
