The Wizards play the Pistons today at 2 p.m. EST. You can watch the game on NBC Sports Washington or listen to it on Federal News Radio 1500 AM. And of course, the Wizards mobile app is another option as well.

Washington hasn’t played very much in the last week, mainly because of last Thursday’s London game against the Knicks. But now, they’re back home in D.C. for a match against the Pistons, who are also trying to make the playoffs.

And also like the Wizards, there is a sentiment that any possible window of contention for the Pistons has passed them by. Yes, they now have multi-time All-Star Blake Griffin. But they have only made the playoffs once since 2009 back in 2016. So I guess it’s almost fitting that both teams face each other today with similar goals in mind.

Today is also a Federal holiday, so if you have today off, Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Even if you’re still at your day job, here’s a link to the NBA and some of the many videos they’ve had over the years on this day which is more than just a possible day off of work. It’s also a day commemorating the accomplishments of past civil rights movements while also remembering that there’s still a lot more to do.

Enjoy your Mondays everyone.
