Non-American NBA players are often the best players from their respective countries. For example, former center Marcin Gortat was a fan favorite among Wizards fans, but he’s an even bigger celebrity in his native Poland. The same goes for guard Tomas Satoransky.
Because of his larger profile in the Czech Republic, we have to read the news from their homelands to learn more information about them. And Satoransky has news to share.
According to Ivo Pospíšil of iSport.cz, Satoransky is expecting his first child in a “few weeks” with his wife Anna. iDNES.cz also reported that he will be a father soon. Satoransky joins John Wall and Bradley Beal in the Wizards’ #NewDadLife Club. Ian Mahinmi and Markieff Morris also have children.
Pospíšil’s article was more specifically about Satoransky’s chances of being the highest paid Czech athlete. Currently, Jakub Voráček of the Philadelphia Flyers NHL team is the highest paid athlete at $9.25 million, but Satoransky has a good chance to surpass that. There’s also a Bullets Forever mention there about Satoransky’s contract extension talks, the latter of which was the main point of the article!
I’m getting carried away now, but congratulations to Tomas Satoransky on being a dad! To celebrate, I’ll embed Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” now. That’s because the Wizards just came back from London AND the western part of the Czech Republic is Bohemia.
