What to Watch for
The Wizards have one less opponent to worry about with Kanter not in London
Kanter did not travel with the Knicks to London due to safety concerns. He believes that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan could have him killed in London. In an article for the Washington Post, the Knicks big man wrote, “Anyone who speaks out against him is a target. I am definitely a target. And Erdogan wants me back in Turkey where he can silence me.”
This will be a loss to the Knicks as he is averaging 14.4 points and 11 rebounds per game and as a result, will make New York even more beatable.
Can the Wizards beat the Knicks for the third time this season?
Washington is 2-0 against the Knicks this season, although those two wins were with a far different team. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned from this squad, it’s that they aren’t giving up. Trevor Ariza has proved to be a solid addition especially with his last two performances where he scored 23 and 20 points respectively. Tomas Satoransky and Thomas Bryant have also transitioned their new roles pretty well so the new faces shouldn’t change the result.
Go off, Otto!
Although the Wizards lost by 2 points in double overtime to the Raptors is their last bout, we saw the Otto that we want to see more frequently. In his 44 minutes on the floor, he scored 27 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. He also went 5-of-10 from the three-point line and made both of his free throws.
