Lavoy Allen signed a training camp deal with the Wizards on Wednesday, according to his representation.
The six-year NBA veteran will have a chance at training camp to compete for the Wizards’ last remaining roster spot. If he doesn’t make the cut, he will have the opportunity to stay close and sign with Washington’s new G-League team. The Capital City Go-Go acquired Allen’s G-League rights as part of the expansion draft this summer.
He will compete at training camp with Chasson Randle—another player with NBA experience the Go-Go hold rights to—as well as Devin Robinson and Jordan McRae, who are on two-way contracts that allow them to spend up to 45 days on the Wizards’ roster.
Allen has reportedly been working out with other Wizards who have been in town getting ready for the upcoming season, which is now right around the corner. Wizards Media Day takes place on Monday, September 24 and the team’s first preseason game is Monday, October 1 when they host the New York Knicks.
UPDATE: Chris Chiozza and Tiwian Kendley will also be at Wizards training camp, according to Ben Standig of The Sports Capital. They both played with the Wizards at Summer League in Las Vegas.
